What is Canastas for College Anaheim?
In many cultures around the world and through time, it has been customary to give baskets (canastas) with gifts as a gesture of good will and good fortune. In that spirit, starting in 2013, SOMOS Anaheim developed the project Canastas for College Anaheim to coordinate donations to make gift baskets for college-bound high school seniors, which are presented to them during their last week of school. The goal of this community project is to highlight the many accomplishments of Anaheim youth, support them as they transition to college, and foster a sense of community pride.
Are you a high school senior that lives or attends school in Anaheim? Then you can apply! Here are the instructions:
Complete the 2020 APPLICATION by midnight March 31, 2020.

Want to donate?
Since 2013 we have been able to present 41 Anaheim students with gift basket that include $200 worth of school/dorm supplies and gift cards, through our group member’s personal funds and donations from family, friends, Anaheim schools alumni, local teachers, counselors, and community leaders. As we move forward, we would love to be able to reach even more Anaheim students and your donation will make all of the difference.
